THE ASCEND STORY

WE STAND FOR LIVES TRANSFORMED BY CHRIST

Our journey began with a small group of believers gathering in a humble living room in Waxhaw, NC. From those early days of heartfelt worship and community, we felt the stirring of a vision that was greater than ourselves—a vision to see lives transformed by the love and power of God. Today, our congregation has grown into a vibrant community of faith and spiritual growth, where people from all walks of life come together to experience the grace and truth found in Jesus Christ.

At the heart of Ascend Church is a commitment to serving others. We continually ask ourselves, "What would it look like if we prioritized others above all else?" This question has shaped our identity and remains a guiding principle in everything we do. Through acts of service, genuine connection, and heartfelt worship, we strive to be a place where everyone can encounter God's love and find a home.


We believe that transformation happens in the context of authentic community. Whether through our worship services, small groups, or outreach initiatives, we are dedicated to creating an environment where individuals can grow in their faith, build meaningful relationships, and experience the transformative power of Christ. At Ascend Church, we stand united in our mission to see lives changed and hearts renewed by God's grace.

What We Believe

At Ascend Church, our beliefs are the foundation of everything we do. Here’s a summary of our core convictions:

  • The Bible

    We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God, guiding us in all aspects of faith and life.

  • The Trinity


    We believe in one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 14:16-17).

    God the Father, the Creator of heaven and earth, is characterized by supreme love, justice, and sovereignty in His creation guidance. (Genesis 1:1; John 3:16; 1 John 3:1).

    God the Son, Jesus Christ, is defined by His sinlessness, sacrificial love, and divine authority, providing salvation through His death and resurrection. (John 1:14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:4).

    The Holy Spirit, as Comforter, Guide, and Empowerer, equips believers with spiritual gifts and fosters spiritual growth. (John 14:26; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; Galatians 5:22-23).


  • The Church

    We believe the Church is the body of Christ on earth, called to worship, teach, and make disciples. (Acts 2:42-47; Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 12:27)

  • Humanity

    We believe that all people are created in the image of God, endowed with inherent dignity and worth. (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:5; James 3:9)

  • Eternity

    We believe in the promise of eternal life for those who trust in Christ and the reality of eternal separation from God for those who reject Him. (John 3:16; Revelation 20:15; 1 John 5:11-12)

  • Marriage

    We believe that marriage is a sacred covenant instituted by God between one man and one woman. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; Ephesians 5:31)

Our approach addresses spiritual, emotional, and practical growth, nurturing a well-rounded walk with Christ. We emphasize sound doctrine, spiritual disciplines, and a Gospel-centered lifestyle. Through mentorship and community, we prepare believers to influence others and live out their faith daily. Our goal is to cultivate a culture of discipleship that fosters spiritual maturity and fulfills the Great Commission.
